The Louisville Zombie Attack Walk has become a HUGE tradition in the Louisville area. The Zombie Attack Walk is a annual event that occurs on August 29th at 8:29PM every year. Why 8:29 on 8/29? This is the tradition that was started by it's creators John King, Mike Welch, and Lyndi Lou marking their birthday. Little did they realize at the time that it would turn into such a popular event. That tradition reanimates itself each year in form of thousands of zombies walking down the middle of Bardstown Rd. Zombies stop the traffic in the streets and Louisville is in chaos. Much like the Dan O'Bannon's Return of the Living Dead set in Louisville.
For 2011, the Louisville Zombie Attack Walk is again on Bardstown Road on Monday, August 29th at 8PM. While it is a Monday, it is a tradition for the Louisville Zombie Walk to be on August 29 regardless of the day, rain or shine. This year, the Louisville Zombie Attack Walk is again trying for the Guinness Book World Record of LARGEST Zombie Walk in the WORLD. Help reach the goal by coming out and being a part of the fun! Join the zombies for a night of rotting fun out at the 2011 Louisville Zombie Attack Walk on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Bardstown Rd right next to Qdoba & Mark's Feedstore. The Danger Run crew will be there again to photograph and film you in your BEST zombie costume. We will even be giving away free shirts and other fun free stuff! If you don't feel like coming out as a rotting corpse, come out and watch the fun! The Louisville Zombile Attack Walk is an event like no other in the city and best of all IT'S FREE! As usual, the Zombie Attack Walk will end at Bearno's on Bardstown Rd which will be hosting a HUGE zombie bash! They will have live entertainment deaturing Va Va Vixens, Terpiscore, Ok Zombie, The Zombieland Marching Band, and more! They will even have a costume contest with prizes awarded for: Hottest Zombie, Grossest Zombie, King & Queen Zombie,and the Golden Machete. So dress in your zombie best!
